Saving Troy

September 7, 2011

Troy Davis, a man who was convicted of killing a Georgia police officer in 1991, may be executed in two weeks–September 21st to be exact. If he is executed, the state of Georgia may be putting an innocent man to death.

I have written about Mr. Davis here, here and here. His case is important because the witnesses who testified against him have recanted their testimonies while implicating another man, Sylvester Coles.

Mr. Davis has been on death row for close to 20 years now. He deserves justice; I can assure you that justice will not be served if his case is not reviewed carefully and if he does not receive a stay of execution.

If you don’t want to see a man, who may be truly innocent of the crimes levied against him, be put to death, I implore you to sign this petition and ask others to become involved before it’s too late. Time is running out for Troy Davis. His life is at stake, so we must make sure every opportunity is given to him to save it before it is taken away cruelly from him.
