On This Day

December 10, 2010

On this Human Rights Day, a former captain helped write letters urging respect for human rights, while an empty chair signified the defiance of one country in disallowing one man from collecting his prize in promoting peace.

An organization celebrated its 50 year birthday, while one woman’s life continues to be not only in the international spotlight, but also at risk.

One country violated its prisoners rights, while another attacked those gathering for peaceful political discussions.

On this Human Rights Day, we campaign for a better world in which we treat each other with respect, rather than vying for power by violating other people’s rights.
