Do Not Mail Registry

March 13, 2008

The people over at Forest Ethics (a non-profit environmental organization) have launched a campaign urging Congress to create a do not mail registry (much like the do not call list), where you can add your name to a list requesting not be solicited with junk mail.

I support this campaign because:

1) I do not like receiving junk mail.

2) It’s incredibly wasteful considering many trees have to be taken down to print the paper with all these junk mailers that most people throw away in the first place instead of recycling!

3) Creating these junk mailers adds to global warming emissions.

Forest Ethics have set up a website where you can sign a petition to support the creation of the do not mail registry.
