Bush Vetoes Anti-Torture Law

March 11, 2008

Over the weekend, President Bush vetoed a very important law that would have disallowed the CIA from using waterboarding and other torture techniques on prisoners. This affront on human rights is unacceptable. Torture in any form is a gross violation of human rights regardless of the circumstances. President Bush needs to reverse his decision and pass this law.

Amnesty International is encouraging activists and citizens to put pressure on the president to reverse his decision. You can act now by contacting your talk radio station or writing a letter to your local newspaper editor and making it clear that you do not support torture. Speak out against torture. Don’t let Bush have the last word!
